Halo series co-developer Certain Affinity has been acquired by Keywords Studios, an acquisition that will provide a stable and supporting home for the developer.
The studio, founded in 2006 by a group of former Bungie staff, has worked on several projects over the years, including several entries in the Halo and Call of Duty series, Hogwarts Legacy, and Gotham Knights. Following the acquisition, the current management team, which includes founder and CEO Max Hoberman and president and COO Paul Sams, will continue to oversee the team.
"At this most difficult time in the market, we're thrilled to be able to provide stability and a supportive home for our team," Certain Affinity's CEO Max Hoberman commented. "The respect for our talent and culture that Keywords has shown, along with a willingness to invest in our growth, is unparalleled. "Paul and I look forward to partnering with them to chart a course for careful expansion of our core co-development activities, refinement of our lead development capabilities, as well as championing the growth of the Create division."
The latest released game co-developed by Certain Affinity is Halo Infinite, the latest entry in the series. The studio is also working on the RPG EXODUS together with Archetype Entertainment.
