Releasing in 2007 for the Xbox 360, Halo 3 was a massive success for Microsoft and became one of the most well-regarded entries in the Halo franchise. While there was no shortage of reasons for its popularity, one contributing factor was the plethora of exciting Covenant and UNSC weaponry available to use during combat. Among the many iconic guns found in the game was the sniper rifle. Recently, one gamer decided to try and make a replica of this iconic weapon in real life.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as omar-ZX7 shared a picture of a recent 3D printed object they created. However, this was no ordinary project as the Reddit user had decided to recreate the sniper rifle used by the Master Chief in Halo 3. In the image shared by the maker, the gun was displayed on a couch, showing the realistic scale of the 3D printed object.

Many elements found on the Halo 3 sniper were present in this 3D-printed prop. For example, it included a characteristically long barrel. It even had a magnification scope attached to the top and had a bipod at its base. In addition, the weapon had a gray paint color and featured authentic weathering across the replica, giving it a more realistic appearance.
Besides showing off the creation in a picture, omar-ZX7 shared some details behind making the sniper in the comment section. According to the Reddit user, an Ender 3 v2 3D printer was used with PLA+ filament. However, they noted that fragile parts, like the bipod and handle, were printed using PETG filament instead.
