Guilty Gear Strive has been a popular addition to the competitive fighting series since its release in June 2021. And now, it's getting a more accessible Combo Maker Mode to accompany the free update slated for release this week.
Guilty Gear Strive was intended to be a welcome revival of the famed series, but since release fans have been comparing it to Guilty Gear Xrd, the previous game in the series. The simplification of the game has been a double-edged sword; intended to be more accessible to new/younger players, Guilty Gear Strive has been criticized for being noticeably easier. The latest update, however, hopes to rectify that.

Guilty Gear Strive is a very «neutral heavy» game, so no character is given an unfair advantage. A lot of the game is breaking the opponent’s defense, and getting as much power into a combo as possible can reward the breaking of defense. The Combo Maker Mode update will allow players to get more bang for their buck when breaking through neutral, gaining a crucial advantage during matches. Online Play also allows for players to name, publish and share their combos to a dedicated section, depending on how flashy, challenging, creative, or practical fans wish to be.
Gamers can practice devastating combos in solo training mode, save them, learn that combo and finally master it to absolutely destroy opponents if they successfully pull off the combo in a competitive match. The Recommended combos serve as a good starting point for inexperienced players picking a new fighter to play as. As time goes on, the chance for adapting new combo moves and then sharing them to a larger audience will no doubt become a very useful feature to the fanbase of Guilty
