343 Industries, developer of Halo Infinite, has revealed that a dedicated Attrition playlist could be coming in a future update. The Attrition multiplayer game mode was added into the game as part of Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown event that was held from January 18 to February 1, 2022. Apart from the new Attrition game mode, the event also featured several challenges for players to complete and rewards to collect, the latter of which include several synthwave cosmetics such as a Neon Screen armor effect and an Electric Bubblegum armor coating.
Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown is its latest in-game event, launching a week after the conclusion of the Fracture: Tenrai event rerun that was held from January 4 to 11, 2022. 343 Industries has said that the Fracture: Tenrai event will be a regularly recurring event that will be made available at least once a month, supposedly to give players more chances to collect all of its rewards. It’s unclear whether Halo Infinite's Cyber Showdown challenges and rewards will also follow the same recurring schedule.

Halo Infinite Lead Multiplayer Designer Andrew Witts (via GameSpot) revealed on Twitter that 343 Industries is working on making Attrition available in the game more consistently, whether that’s through adding its own dedicated playlist or as part of a completely new one. Witts didn’t confirm when and how Attrition will be making a comeback to Halo Infinite, but did add that the response to Attrition has been positive. The developer thanked the game’s community for playing and providing feedback on the new game mode.
