Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Chukwudi Iwuju shares new details about his character High Evolutionary. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is coming to theaters on May 5, 2023, is the first film to feature the titular team front and center since 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Although they have appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder in the meantime, their story will now be able to continue in earnest with returning director James Gunn at the helm.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be following the events of Endgame, with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) still devastated by the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), even though a version of her from a previous timeline still exists in his universe. However, he must overcome his emotions to help save the galaxy yet again from an untold new threat, along with his teammates Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Drax (Dave Bautista, in his final MCU appearance). Although the exact nature of this threat hasn't been officially verified, the characters the Guardians must face off against include Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), who was teased during the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Iwuju's High Evolutionary.

He also dropped some details about how the film will characterize the villain, saying that the godlike High Evolutionary is "narcissistic, sociopathic, but very charming."
