A new trailer for Greedfall 2: The Dying World premiered at this year’s Nacon Connect livestream. The trailer gives us our first look at the game’s story, where we see the player character fight to free herself from enslavement.
In addition to the trailer, developer Spiders announced that Greedfall 2 will launch in Steam Early Access sometime this summer. At launch, players will be able to complete the “entire beginning” of the game. The estimate is that this will make up about a quarter of the game’s total content.
The intention for early access is to layer on additional updates at a regular cadence, though saves won’t be compatible between updates. Spiders CEO Jehanne Rousseau explained that the sequel to Greedfall is significantly more ambitious than its predecessor and that the team plans to rely on feedback gleaned through early access to inform the team on the game’s direction.
The game’s new combat system is one area of focus the team is hopeful to get feedback on. Rousseau described it as not turn-based, yet a system where players will have a lot of control over their team.
