Google has just announced the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro at its global launch event. The successor to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, both the Pixel 7 models will come to India this year after a gap of three years. Google is announcing a bunch of new smart software based features to take on the iPhone 14 series and Samsung's Galaxy S22 series devices. In fact, Google did not spare the opportunity to take a dig at Apple, mocking it for all the features the iPhone 14 Pro debuted this year. And yes, a dig at iMessage was also present.
Google is bringing the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to India and the prices have been announce already. The Pixel 7 is priced at Rs. 59,999 and the Pixel 7 Pro is priced at Rs. 84,999. Both devices will be available for purchase starting October 13. These are much less than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Google is also offering up to Rs. 8,500 on the Pixel 7 Pro as cashback, and Rs. 6000 on the Pixel 7.
With the Google Pixel 7 series, the design has been largely unchanged. Google has tweaked the metal finishes on the rails and the camera hump – matte for the Pixel 7 and glossy for the Pixel 7 Pro. Both models use recycled aluminium for their construction.
The hero at the Pixel 7's heart is the Tensor G2 chip, which enables all the on-device smarts. Along with the Titan M2 chip, Google promises a secure Android experience. In fact, Google has promised up to five years of security updates on the Pixel 7 series, although nothing on the number of Android OS updates yet.
The Tensor G2 chip allows the Digital Wellbeing app to detect your sleep using your snoring data, and all the data is processed on the device. The Privacy and Security section has Action Cards to notify of safety risks. To enhance the secure
