Santa Monica Studio has finally revealed the release date of God of War Ragnarok, bringing an end to fan speculation. The upcoming sequel is set to bring Kratos and Atreus' journey through Norse mythology, which began in the series' 2018 installment, to a dramatic conclusion. Leaked God of War Ragnarok merchandise recently hinted at a release date around September or October, but a firm November release date has now been officially revealed.
By trading Greek mythology for the harsh Norse wilderness, 2018's God of War served as a fresh start for Santa Monica Studio's iconic action franchise. The series' latest entry sees protagonist Kratos, alongside his young son Atreus, embark on a journey to the highest peak in the Nine Realms. God of War Ragnarok intends to follow up this journey by portraying the titular world-shattering event of Ragnarok. The game will reportedly see Kratos and Atreus search for Tyr, the deposed Norse God of War, and face Atreus' epic fate as the trickster deity Loki. A developer recently assured fans that God of War Ragnarok will release in 2022, and at long last the game's release date has been revealed.

Bringing an end to the concerns of fans, PlayStation (via Twitter) has revealed that God of War Ragnarok will officially come to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9, 2022.
