The side quest Hand-Me-Down Trial can be accepted from Dame Fiorayne after completing the Master Rank five Urgent Quest involving Shagaru Magala. Let's take a look at how to complete this request, and what the rewards are.
To complete the Hand-Me-Down Trial, you'll need to deliver two items; one Hellfire Shard and one Daora Shard. These items can be obtained from Master Rank Teostra and Kushala Daora, respectively.
Hellfire Shards have a 31 percent chance to drop as a quest reward for hunting a Teostra, a 24 percent chance to be carved from the monster after slaying it, and a 30 percent chance to drop as a dropped material during the quest.
Daora Shards have a 28 percent chance to appear as a quest reward from Kushala Doara, a 12 percent chance to drop from breaking the monster's head, a 23 percent chance to drop from carving the monster, and a 25 percent chance to drop during the quest.
Overall, obtaining a Hellfire Shard and a Daora Shard should be simple, as these are both common drops from their respective monsters. These Elder Dragons are difficult monsters to fight, so we recommend reading up on their weaknesses before heading into battle.
