Raf Grassetti, the former art director at God of War team Santa Monica Studio, has today announced he's joining Netflix to help create «a new original IP AAA game». Working with the likes of Joseph Staten (Halo), Jerry Edsall (Shadowrun, Gears 5), and Chacko Sonny (former executive producer of Overwatch), the developer will «bring a new world to life».
On Twitter, Grassetti writes: «I’m happy to announce that I’ve joined Netflix to develop a new original IP AAA game. I'm really excited to build a team and to work with the amazing Joseph Staten, Jerry Edsall and Chacko Sonny to bring a new world to life.» He continues: «Making games is what I love to do and I'm not going away anytime soon.»
Throughout his career, Grassetti worked on Mass Effect 3 as a character artist before joining Sony for Guerilla Games' PS4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall. He's also credited on CounterSpy and The Order: 1886. Upon leaving the firm, he said: «Sony has been my second home, and I'm immensely grateful to be involved so deeply with God of War. The skills I've learned, and the deep connections I've formed with incredible people will stay with me forever.»
