Bethesda-owned Tango Gameworks’ PlayStation 5 exclusive, Ghostwire: Tokyo, may have leaked its release date. Ghostwire is a first-person action-adventure game set in a supernatural version of Tokyo, Japan. Through trailers, it appears that the player will be tasked with fighting ghosts and demons inspired by Japanese yokai. Despite multiple trailers, fairly little is known about how the game plays. Its most considerable exposure came from former creative director Ikumi Nakamura’s introduction during E3 2019. Her presentation helped draw attention until Nakamura’s departure from Tango Gameworks in 2021 to form an independent studio.
Although Tango Gameworks is a Bethesda developer, making it an Xbox studio, the game will release exclusively on PS5 and remain exclusive for a year. A similar deal exists for Deathloop, another Bethesda-published game. Microsoft stated that it would honor existing exclusivity deals for the PS5. However, it remains to be seen if the company will allow for multiplatform distribution same regarding future games from Bethesda studios or Activision Blizzard, the latter of which Microsoft just acquired for $68 billion. Both Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield will release exclusively on Xbox Series consoles and PC, but not on PS5.

As reported by Gematsu (via MP1st), the PlayStation store listed a release date of March 24 for Ghostwire: Tokyo. Alongside the game’s release date, an overview was added.
