The Sumeru region in Genshin Impact is filled with underground caves and pathways, which leads to a problem with teleport waypoints scattered across the map. Sumeru is just one of many areas found within Genshin Impact, and the region will soon expand with a series of new updates.
Reddit user u/smaad pointed out an issue with the current in-game map depicting Sumeru and certain teleport waypoints. Two teleport waypoints near the Devantaka Mountain indicate locations on the ground like normal waypoints should. However, these waypoints are actually underground and may be reached by entering a cave system. As a result, some players are confused about the exact location since the map depicted the teleport waypoint as being above ground instead of underground.

Smaad points out both waypoints on the map and other Reddit users discuss similar issues with fast traveling in Genshin Impact. Since the teleport waypoints do not visibly indicate an above ground or underground on the map, some players have mistakenly fast traveled into a Sumeru cave system instead of the land above. Some players suggest HoYoverse should introduce a separate Sumeru map for Genshin Impact that depicts the region's cave systems and underground waypoints. HoYoverse previously introduced the Chasm, which is a vast underground cave system in Liyue with its own separate map.
The Teyvat Interactive map for Genshin Impact depicts underground teleport waypoints with a small cave symbol. The symbol allows players to easily distinguish teleport waypoints that are above ground and underground. The in-game map does not contain these cave indicators, so players who want to use the Teyvat
