If you’re still searching for a PlayStation 5, GameStop plans on selling the product online tomorrow, Jan. 21.
However, the deal will only be available to members of GameStop’s perks program, PowerUp Rewards Pro, which costs $14.99 a year.
The other catch is the PS5s will be sold through a bundle that’ll probably cost over $700. The package will include the disc-version of the console, Call of Duty: Vanguard, an additional PS5 red-colored controller, a PS Plus 12-month membership, and a GameStop gift card.
The retailer announced the upcoming sale in an email to customers on Wednesday. The online sale will commence at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST, but quantities will be limited. The same email also included a link to the bundle. It's not working at the moment, but presumably, it'll be up and running when the time arrives:
PlayStation 5 bundle from GameStop
It’s certainly annoying that GameStop continues to package PS5 sales in a bundle and behind a membership paywall. But the company's perks program is only $14.99 for an entire year. So subscribing to it may be worthwhile if you’ve been struggling to secure the console.
The $14.99 membership also covers the entire year, giving you additional chances to score the PS5 if you fail tomorrow. In the past, GameStop has also sold PS5 bundles at select stores across the country.
