gamescom 2024: The Biggest Announcements So Far
gamescom 2024 is in full swing, with some of the biggest video game announcements of the year already making their way out of the event. The show kicked off with Opening Night Live yesterday, and we've already received a ton of exciting news and game reveals from the show. Hot off the heels of the Borderlands movie comes the announcement that Borderlands 4 is indeed happening and it will come out sometime in 2025. The game was announced with a teaser trailer that apparently contains several secrets that fans may not catch on their first watch.
Although the title of the game is Borderlands 4, it's actually going to be the 8th game in the Borderlands series.
Fans of the Civilization games will be happy to know that not only did we get to see gameplay of the upcoming game for the first time, we actually have a confirmed release date. Civilzation 7 will be launching on February 11, 2025 on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The deluxe edition will be available to play 5 days early,

One of the most popular reveals Opening Night Live was an upcoming Amazon series called Secret Level. It's an animated anthology series from the creators of Love, Death, and Robots that focuses on a series of new short stories from some of the most popular video games.
