Overwatch fans have been waiting years to play Overwatch 2, and now PC gamers can finally get their hands on the game. Blizzard is rolling out invites to the Overwatch 2 PvP closed beta, giving PC gamers the opportunity to try the game's new 5v5 gameplay and check out new Damage hero Sojourn. Overwatch 2 is also coming to consoles, and so fans on those platforms may be wondering when they will get a beta.
Unfortunately, this first Overwatch 2 closed PvP beta test is exclusively available on PC, with no plans to bring it to consoles. However, Blizzard does plan on hosting future Overwatch 2 beta tests on consoles. It confirmed as much in the FAQ for the Overwatch 2 beta, but stopped short of providing specific dates or even platforms.

Presumably, if Overwatch 2 does have a console beta, it will be featured across all consoles that the game is launching on, which is believed to be PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch. However, there have been rumors that Blizzard is going to cancel the Switch version of Overwatch 2, so that remains to be seen. Hopefully more clarification on that comes sooner rather than later so Switch gamers know what to expect.
When an Overwatch 2 release date is in sight, fans will likely have a better idea of when they can play a beta for the console versions of the game. Generally speaking, many console games tend to host betas relatively close to their release dates, and so it's quite likely that the same will hold true for Overwatch 2. The latest on the Overwatch 2 release date is that the game may not even release until 2023, so fans will have to wait and see what happens.
