It's no secret that Capcom's franchise is one of the most influential in the horror genre, inspiriting many other games since the mid-90s, and while the remake of Resident Evil 3 is not as highly praised as its predecessor, many are still waiting for a current-gen upgrade.
That could be sooner than expected. As spotted by Push Square, a photo uploaded to Twitter by user TheBatMan shows the PS Store page for Resident Evil 3, with a PS5 upgrade seemingly available. This has caused many to post their excitement about the possibility that the next-gen port will be rolling out soon. It could also mean that an Xbox Series version is just on the horizon, as well. However, nothing has been officially confirmed, but the image on Twitter does give many fans hope.

Capcom has already spoken about Resident Evil upgrades, specifically for games 2, 3, and 7. Information that the company divulged suggests that the upgrades will be free to those who have already purchased the aforementioned games, either on PC or console. The one downside to this, however, is that users who want current-gen versions on console will need to have a PS5 or Xbox Series system that can read discs, so that means players can't use the PS5 Digital Edition or Xbox Series S to get the free upgrade.
