The Future Games Show at gamescom presented by Sid Meier's Civilization VII takes place on August 21 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 10 PM CEST. The show will be broadcasted on Twitch, YouTube, X, Facebook, TikTok and GamesRadar and BilliBilli.
Alex McKenna (who plays Sadie Adler in Red Dead Redemption 2) and Ned Luke (Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V) will be hosting the showcase.
The Future Games Show will be highlighting upcoming games that will be released on platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC. In total, there will be over 50 titles showcased from major developers and publishers such as 2K, Plaion, Nacon and Rebellion. Since this showcase is in partnership with Sid Meier's Civilization VII, the show will also be featuring two deep dive interviews with Firaxis Games, which is the team and masterminds behind the most recent Civilization games, including Civilization VII.
Not only will be there plenty of games showcased, there will also be an exclusive look at season two of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a show exclusive to Prime Video.
The Future Games Show will feature the usual sections, such as the "Ones to Play" section, which showcases a bunch of titles that will have demos immediately available to install and play after the showcase is finished. There will also be the "Indie Elevator Pitch" which gives a spotlight to the development of upcoming indie games. Finally, there will be the "Ones to Watch" section, which will showcase the games that the Future Games team are most excited about.
In addition to the showcase, there is also the Future Games Expansion Pack, which is the official post-show broadcast, which airs directly after the show. In this post-show broadcast, people can expect to see exclusive developer interviews, surprise game reveals and extra special guests.
