With the first beta for Overwatch 2 live now, players are having a lot of fun testing out the major hero reworks and determining new approaches to the game’s team fights. However, some Overwatch 2 players are also finding fun interactions between the heroes, and one should prove especially entertaining to Cassidy and Soldier 76 fans.
The moment in question is an Ultimate counter, which anyone that has played Overwatch will know is incredibly important. However, it is not as effective as Genji’s ability to deflect Bastion’s Artillery Strike back at him, as Soldier 76 is not damaging or killing the enemy Cassidy. Instead, they are simply dodging the outlaw’s Deadeye ability, but they are doing so in a hilarious way. For those interested, a specific Soldier 76 emote needs to be used at the right time to successfully escape.

The callout for Deadeye is as iconic as it gets, as Cassidy shouting “it’s High Noon” has been an Overwatch meme since the original game first launched. As such, players often know to get into cover as soon as they hear this dialogue, though Reddit user FatCosmos had a different approach. As soon as the enemy Cassidy’s Deadeye was activated, the Redditor activated Soldier 76’s pushups emote. Funnily enough, dropping down to the ground saved their life, as they were just out of Cassidy’s reach.
When Deadeye is activated, Cassidy needs a few seconds to lock onto enemies — with the time needed for this lock-on changing depending on the health of his foes. With the lock-on requiring Cassidy to maintain a clear shot on an enemy, breaking that line of sight will allow a player to dodge the Ultimate and live to fight another day.
