Despite the onslaught of vicious dragons and the general combat that accompanies such an epic open world game, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim can actually be a relaxing experience. With a study showing that it's one of the best video games to induce mindfulness in players, the decade-old title is expansive and gorgeous enough, and can offer something more than sword fighting and questing. However, it can also sometimes be a little bit creepy, which is not always something that people are expecting when they jump in.
In a recent clip uploaded to the Skyrim Subreddit, user battleooze1615 can be seen enjoying the sights of Solitude, watching some of the guards in their training. However, the player's attention quickly turns when they notice a peculiar sight, namely that a number of mannequins appear to be strolling through the city as though nothing is out of the ordinary. It's even more off because none of the other NPCs appear to notice or even mind that two statues have begun walking calmly around the place. It's quite a creepy thing to behold.
Skyrim Trick Basically Lets Players Fly
The mannequins in Skyrim are pretty terrifying anyway and while it's tempting to say that this could be a mod which adds them in as normal NPCs, the fact that they don't appear to have a name or an option to speak to them could mean it's a bug. What seems to perturb the player even more is when one of them turns to speak when they get too close, and it seems to leave them baffled in what may have simply started out as a lovely sojourn through the city.
