Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, one of only two female-led late night shows on television, has been canceled after seven successful seasons on TBS. The comedian first rose to prominence as a correspondent for The Daily Show on Comedy Central. Full Frontal with Samantha Bee premiered on TBS in 2016, airing new episodes weekly.
Unlike many late-night talk shows, Full Frontal did not feature interviews with guests, though there were frequent appearances from celebrity guest stars such as Patton Oswalt, Michelle Branch, and Sigourney Weaver for various sketches and other segments. Early on in its run, the show garnered universal acclaim for its satirical news coverage and became a signature program for TBS. But since the recent Warner Bros. Discovery merger, the company's new CEO David Zaslav has moved swiftly to put his vision in place, which includes $3 billion in budgetary cuts, sparking worry about all programming under the company's umbrella, including the cable network TBS.
