The release date for Sonic Frontiers may have been announced earlier than planned, thanks to a Japanese TV commercial.
The game, which will be shown tonight as part of Gamescom‘s Opening Night Live show, will apparently release on November 8, 2022.
The commercial has reportedly been appearing on Japanese television for a while, but with no release date.
However, Twitter user @Tracked_TD noted that the trailer had been uploaded to YouTube, with a release date added. The video has since been changed to Private.
Promotional material for merchandise related to the game pointed to the release date being November 15, although this trailer appears to contradict that.
Back in December 2021, the PlayStation Network backend also listed a November 15, 2022 release date, which was initially spotted by PlayStation Game Size.
Sega management has continually maintained that there are no plans to delay Sonic Frontiers following mixed reception from fans and media.
