Even before Rockstar announced the game was in development, fans had been eagerly anticipating Grand Theft Auto 6, though it's likely still a good couple of years away. With the fifth installment in the long-running series being one of the highest-grossing video games of the last decade, no doubt many will be wondering how the studio will top GTA 5. With the next entry underway, rumors and leaks have been bombarding the gaming sphere, and one such nugget of information suggests there's going to be some news soon.
That's according to a report from Dexerto, which cites a GTAForums post by industry insider Tez2. Apparently, Rockstar could make some sort of announcement regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, and it could all be in relation to a mysterious screenshot. The insider says there's a «high chance» the developer could come forward with something on October 23, just shy of Halloween.

For those who don't recall, last year fans noticed what they suspected was a Grand Theft Auto 6 screenshot hidden in GTA Trilogy. It shows a photograph of an unknown house, next to which can be seen a UFO hovering nearby. Whether this is from the upcoming game cannot be certain, but it hasn't stopped fans from trying to decipher the mystery. What's interesting is the image was found in the Lil’ Probe’Inn, a UFO-themed bar in San Andreas.
According to Tez2, GTA Online may start to feature UFOs, which will lead to Rockstar mentioning these alien spacecrafts in a post on Twitter. It's been suggested that this social media post could contain a hint about when fans might expect a GTA 6 announcement. Tez2 gives the example of a photo with perhaps a mention of «tropical storms in two days,»
