During EA's Investor Day, one of the big topics there was the new and upcoming Battlefield game. At the moment, the details regarding the game are relatively slim pickings. However, during the EA Investor Day, fans got to hear some details about the development process for the upcoming Battlefield game. So far, it's been specified that four development studios are working on this project in total, all taking more time for the development cycle.
Introducing the Battlefield topic in the Investor Day video, Laura Miele begins by saying, "No franchise captures that feeling of all-out warfare, epic scale, massive destruction, and high-intensity action like Battlefield." In the video, she acknowledges that the franchise has been successful due to leaning on those core tenets but admits that some of the games they have produced in the franchise have missed the mark, especially Battlefield 2042.
To ensure that this next game in the iconic shooter franchise is much better and more suited to the Battlefield audience, there have been "significant shifts in their approach" when developing the upcoming Battlefield game. They have been working with the community for the past year and getting feedback and ideas from them to help make the best experience for the players.
Byron Beede also commented on the development of Battlefield, discussing how each of the four studios plays a role in developing the game's universe. He first stated that DICE will lead the charge on multiplayer, with Criterion driving content experiences across singleplayer and multiplayer. Third, Motive will use its storytelling and action skills to provide a meaty campaign for players to explore. Lastly, Ripple Effect is instead working on a new Battlefield experience, which is "fueled by the unique Battlefield DNA that's been testing really well with players."
