Epic Games is adding three new "experiences" to Fortnite later this week, including a survival crafting Lego adventure, a Rocket-League-inspired racing mode, and a musical mode made by Harmonix that's riffing on Rock Band.
If you thought that this week couldn't get any better for Fortnite fans, then you might want to think again. Not only did we just get the Big Bang event and the reveal of everything coming to The Island as part of Chapter 5, but Epic has now announced that three new "experiences" (just say game modes, please) will be added to Fortnite next week.
If you managed to take part in the Big Bang event, you'll have already seen a glimpse of all three of these new game modes, as it seems the showcase was just one big tease for the new modes. The first is a crossover with Lego called, you guessed it, Lego Fortnite. Epic describes it as the "ultimate survival crafting LEGO adventure" that will feature "vast, open worlds" that combine Lego's penchant for building with the world of Fortnite. Lego Fortnite joins the game on December 7.
Lego Fortnite has been rumoured to be coming to Fortnite for a while now. The long wait makes some sense if it's as in-depth as the Big Bang event made it out to be.
The second "experience" coming to Fortnite next week is a Rocket League-esque racing mode called Rocket Racing that has been developed by Psyonix. Epic says that it's a "supersonic arcade racer where players drift, fly, and boost with friends", something that we all got a taste of during the Big Bang. You can play Rocket Racing from December 8.
