Hey there, Fortnite lovers! Fortnite never shies away from collaborating with other big franchises, including Star Wars and Marvel. The game has hosted many successful events themed on franchises like these since its launch.
Now, Fortnite is collaborating with Star Trek, and bringing the popular singer Kid Cudi into the game in a brand new event that goes by the name Mirror Mayhem.
It turns out that during the Fortnite x Star Trek: Mirror Mayhem occasion, Kid Cudi will launch their latest single, Heaven’s Galaxy. It’s a Star Trek-themed tune, and a previously unreleased song from the album INSANO sessions.
It’s not clear exactly how the song will arrive in Fortnite, but it’ll appear on the in-game radio or at some stage in a special mini-event.
A release poster has revealed that the event is not sponsored, endorsed, or administrated by Epic Games. Check out the bottom of the poster for that confirmation.
So it seems that this isn’t an official collaboration with Fortnite but that’s not unusual. Fortnite has had plenty of unofficial collaborations like this.
As this isn’t an official collaboration, the Fortnite x Star Trek: Mirror Mayhem featuring Kid Cudi sadly won’t feature Star Trek-themed goodies. For instance, there are no skins or cosmetics that you can collect as event-specific rewards.
However, it’s possible that items or guns that draw inspiration from the Star Trek franchise will arrive in the loot pool of Fortnite.
For those unaware, Fortnite is one of two battle royale shooters that kicked off the genre. While PUBG focused on realism, Fortnite doubled down on its cartoon appeal. It’s a vibrant game, with tower building mechanics, a wide variety of weapons to shoot, and tons of events.
