Football Manager 2025 will have the real Premier League in it
Football Manager 2025 will have the official license for the Premier League for the first time, as the Premier League and Sports Interactive have penned a four-year licensing partnership.
Starting with the 2024/25 season, Football Manager will have all 20 Premier League clubs included with fully licensed logos, kits and player photos for the real sporting figures throughout.
Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson said, “Since Football Manager’s inception, we have always wanted to work with the Premier League, and we’re delighted to announce today that at last we are.”
This will add a further layer of authenticity to the game, though it already has numerous leagues, teams and competitions licensed – in England, for example, the Premier League is the cherry on the top of having the EFL and National League structures in FM24, and there’s several of the major European leagues and the UEFA club competitions already featured as well.
Jacobson continued:
“The partnership isn’t just about the huge in-game benefits it’ll give our fans, but also the opportunities it provides us to help with the incredible things that the Premier League and their clubs do off the pitch. That includes community and charitable work, two things we’re enormously passionate about, as well as the ability to work with some of their existing partners.”
More details on how the Premier League will be integrated into Football Manager will be revealed later this year, as and when Sports Interactive start to talk about this year’s entry.
However, we do know that this year’s game is going to be a massive shift for Sports Interactive. The studio confirmed last year that they would be switching game engines to Unity, which will allow for a whole new UI, better optimised graphics per platform – from mobile to console and PC – and a completely overhauled matchday experience.
