Lawrence Sullivan, better known as the Flordia Joker, has been in the news a lot recently. It all kicked off when the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 dropped, clearly referencing his unique appearance. Since then, Sullivan has demanded compensation in the millions from Rockstar, but so far, he hasn't even had a response.
Now, Sullivan is trying a different approach. He says he's happy to drop the legal threats, as long as he's allowed to be a voice actor in GTA 6 - and get paid for his time, of course. His new request comes from a TikTok video, in which Sullivan once again tries to speak to Rockstar and Take-Two directly.
"GTA, Rockstar, Take-Two, we've got to talk," says Sullivan, in a video spotted by IGN. "I'm not suing y'all no more, but y’all still out your goddamn nuggets. It's been two whole months, two months, y'all still haven't reached out to me, haven’t DM’d me. Let's do what's right."
Sullivan continues, making his new pitch to Rockstar. "Show me like $50,000, $100,000. Let me voice the character, let me go to the meet-and-greets when the game is released, sign, take pictures with the fans. Come on man".
For whatever reason, Sullivan appears to believe that he will be an actual character in GTA 6. However, his appearance in the GTA 6 trailer only appeared to be part of a montage that referenced several viral videos and stories from Florida. It doesn't seem that any of them will be actual characters, with Sullivan's sort-of cameo just setting the tone.
Sullivan's belief that there will be a major NPC that's inspired by his own appearance might explain why he's been so vocal about receiving compensation from Rockstar. Soon after the trailer went live, Sullivan demanded $2 million from the studio, which he increased to $5 million in a "final warning". We now know this was, in fact, not his final warning. Since then, he's also threatened to break the Rockstar hacker out of the hospital he's being held in if he isn't given $10 million.
Now, the amount of money
