Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is set to be one of the most anticipated games in recent memory, offering players a rich open world to explore as well as exciting combat and weapons. At the heart of the game’s combat is the flintlock pistol that will give Nor, the protagonist, a means to inflict mid to long-range damage on her enemies. From the reveal trailer of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, it seems that the pistols will be used for more than just damage, as Nor can be seen using it to dodge her enemies’ attacks while in midair.
Flintlock’s pistols were always going to play a vital role in the story, as the world seems to be set up in such a way that these pistols were only recently invented. If this is the case, there is a possibility that players will explore the functionality of these pistols through testing and upgrading many features. So, it is likely that the pistols will be just as useful in world traversal and solving open-world puzzles as they will in combat.

Pistols will be one of the two main weapons at Nor’s disposal and will provide players a mid-range attack option to pair with the axe. Using these two weapons interchangeably could allow the players to dish out powerful combos that can devastate enemies and will likely prove most useful against larger groups. However, this is not the only use of the pistols in combat, as the trailer gave players a hint as to the true versatility offered by Flintlock's pistols.
