Fire Resistance has had a legendary legacy ever since World of Warcraft first introduced the Molten Core raid in 2004. While it seems that at times players over-prepared for what was needed, that will no longer be the case in Season of Discovery.
Pre-Raid Fire Resistance Gear Guide — Season of Discovery
As players begin to turn up the Heat Levels in Molten Core, higher difficulties will require a certain amount of Fire Resistance:
With each heat level comes increased difficulty with additional mechanics, damage, and an increased requirement for “fire resistance.”
- Sweltering Heat – Level 1
- The easiest of the three modes is designed to be approachable to almost all groups.
- Blistering Heat – Level 2
- Recommended Fire Resistance: +96 or higher
- Molten Heat – Level 3
- Recommended Fire Resistance: +226 or higher
To reach these Recommended Fire Resistance thresholds, you will need at least a certain amount of Gear or Enchants even with enough Shamans to cover the raid with Fire Resistance Totem, or Paladins with Fire Resistance Aura.
