The crossover between highly acclaimed FPS Apex Legends and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is off to a rocky start, as monetization on one specific Death Box has gone too far for some fans.
This crossover event was supposed to be one of the greats, as Final Fantasy and Apex Legends fans finally had the best of both worlds in one place. Rather than exhilaration and elation, fans of both games were filled with rage as they learned that the newest Death Box would cost them $360 to call their own.

Several different Death Boxes are available for players to customize to fit their aesthetic and preference, but this One-Winged Angel-themed box has a hefty price to pay to unlock.
In order to obtain the crossover-themed Death Box, players must have all 36 of the cosmetic items available from the event, which are only obtainable through Event Packs. If there are 36 items to collect and no chance of receiving a duplicate, which luckily dupes are not possible in Apex Legends event packs, that would cost $360 to purchase 36 packs to finally obtain the coveted Death Box skin.
Angered fans have, of course, taken to social media to voice their complaints with the box, as one person stated ,
“Ain’t no one paying 360 dollars for a death box skin man. Can’t believe you’re normalising gacha too.”
Under the thread showcasing this post, several others have expressed their outrage and concern, stating this could be the most expensive item to ever come to Apex Legends in the history
