Ms. Marvel, currently airing on Disney+, is a hot topic around the globe — and not just because it is the latest MCU series to hit the streaming platform. The show features the first Pakistani Muslim superhero, and even took her to her hometown of Karachi in the most recent episode. There, she met fellow hero Red Dagger (played by Aramis Knight) and his mentor Waleed.
Waleed may have met an early demise in Ms. Marvel episode 4, but actor Farhan Akhtar isn't so sure that's the end of the road for him. Akhtar has not only starred in plenty of films over the last two decades, he is also an accomplished director and writer in his own right. The fact that some call him one of the greatest Bollywood directors to date is further proof of how much weight his word carries, and how significant it is that he saw Ms. Marvel as a story he had to be part of telling.

Screen Rant spoke to Akhtar about what made him most excited to take part in Ms. Marvel, what it's like to work alongside a bright young actress such as Iman Vellani, and how he's finally impressed his daughter with a role.
Screen Rant: Congrats on the show. I've been loving the hell out of this show. Can you tell me the story about how you got involved with Ms. Marvel? How did this come together?
Farhan Akhtar: I have my agent to thank for it, who reached out to me one day and said that, «Marvel is doing this show called Ms. Marvel, which is about this Pakistani Muslim girl in New Jersey who discovers that she has special powers and comes back to the subcontinent in search for answers. And it's something very new that they're doing.»
