Chris Canfield's horror Western Blackwood recently hit theatres in advance of its digital and demand release on July 26. His directional debut takes place in Blackwood Forest and follows the story of Dowanhowee (Tanajsia Slaughter, The Last Son), a Native American woman who steals a horse and becomes the target of Dutch Wilder (Bates Wilder, Joy and Black Mass) and his gang.
However, it doesn't take long to realize that the Dutch Wilder Gang isn't the biggest threat Dowanhowee has to face. The forest is rumored to be home to the Wendigo, an ancient creature who brutally mutilates and eats its unlucky victims. When they become the Wendigo's next target, Dowanhowee and Dutch have no choice but to form an alliance if they hope to escape Blackwood Forest in one piece.
