A new mission based on the Rambo movies has been added to Far Cry 6, but the titular action hero isn’t actually in it.
Instead, the All the Blood mission has players meeting a ‘Rambo superfan’ and helping them take on the Yaran military.
A new trailer for the mission (seen below) includes variations on a number of Rambo lines, including “you drew first blood”, “I’ll give you a war you won’t believe” and “we’re not hunting him, he’s hunting us”.
However, the actual Rambo isn’t present because he’s just a movie character in this universe, as noted by posters of the Stallone movie in the superfan’s room.
The mission arrives as part of Title Update 4, which also comes with a number of bug fixes and the following quality-of-life updates:
This isn’t the first crossover mission Far Cry 6 has received. In December it also got two new missions starring cult movie star Danny Trejo.
In the first mission, titled Danny & Danny vs Everybody, players team up with the Machete star to fight Antón Castillo’s forces, who are trying to stop Trejo making tacos to feed the hungry.
When this mission is completed a new Special Operation (the game’s sixth and final one) is unlocked, in which Trejo helps students protesting Castillo’s military.
Far Cry 6 was released on October 7 and has scores of 75 (PS5), 76 (PC) and 80 (Xbox Series X/S) on review aggregator Metacritic.
Some of the game’s harsher reviews, including VGC’s 2/5-star verdict, criticise the title for sticking too closely to a tried and tested formula.
The next Far Cry game could shake up the series with a greater focus on online play, it has been claimed.
