The upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Grand Theft Auto Online will feature a Special Works auto shop within the LS Car Meet, allowing users to unlock elite performance driving upgrades that take advantage of the horsepower behind current-gen consoles. Rockstar Games confirmed the news alongside details about GTA 5's PS5 and Xbox Series enhancements, which include up to 4K visuals, HDR options, ray tracing, and platform-dedicated features like haptic feedback support for PS5's DualSense.
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive lifted the lid on Grand Theft Auto 5's new-gen upgrades late last week and, in so doing, shared a March 2022 due date that finally put a stop to delay rumors and speculation. To the delight of much of the internet, the studio also confirmed that GTA 6 is indeed in production, though specific details about the eagerly-awaited title will likely remain under lock and key for a long time to come.

According to a Rockstar Newswire post, Grand Theft Auto Online will make the most of the latest consoles, as well. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S iterations of the online suite will feature a newly created auto shop located in GTA Online's LS Car Meet. Known as Hao's Special Works, the forthcoming auto shop will allow players to upgrade five new vehicles and five existing cars with elite performance driving upgrades at launch. The blog post doesn't detail what exactly these upgrades will offer, but notes the driving performance boosts should take "full advantage" of the PlayStation 5's and Xbox Series X/S' horsepower.
