Elden Ring has been out for a few months now and, as plenty of Tarnished have made their way through the Lands Between on a quest to become Elden Lord, many players have thoroughly enjoyed their time with FromSoftware's latest RPG. Fans have shown their love for Elden Ring in multiple ways, from building on the game with mods, to already saying that it should be considered for 2022's game of the year, to creating incredible pieces of fan art depicting characters, environments, and more from the RPG.
Recently, one Elden Ring fan created a rather unique piece of fan art. Specifically, user notramilopak on Reddit showed off their interpretation of what a Soulsborne game set in the Warhammer 40K universe would look like. The grimdark nature of Warhammer 40K would appear to fit well with the gritty settings that FromSoftware usually creates in the lore of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. However, this concept led to a heated debate in the comments of notramilopak's post.

Some Elden Ring players were hyped at the idea of a Warhammer 40K crossover, imagining units from the Tyranid, Ork, and Chaos Factions of the tabletop wargame making for some great bosses and normal enemies. Others believed that while a sci-fi Soulsborne title would be interesting, Warhammer wasn't the setting for it. The argument was made that if a Warhammer Soulsborne featured the iconic Space Marines, then it would be tough to make regular enemies feel as powerful as they do in other FromSoftware titles.
