The Fallout TV series is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video early next year, and today a new article in Vanity Fair revealed a ton of interesting new info about the series. It seems the Fallout show will stick relatively closely to the source material, with the usual factions you’d expect – Vault dwellers, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Ghouls, ect – but it isn’t a direct adaptation of any of the games.
The main character is Lucy, a Vault dweller who has to venture into the dangerous world above on a rescue mission. Lucy will be played by Yellowjackets star Ella Purnell, and is described as “doe-eyed” and naïve given he sheltered Vault upbringing. The Vanity Fair article also hints that the class divide between the relatively privileged Vault dwellers and the folks living on the surface will be a major theme of the show.
Speaking of the folks on the surface, the show’s other major characters are Maximus, a young Brotherhood of Steel squire, and The Ghoul, played by none other than Walter Goggins. Of course, in the Fallout games “Ghouls” are an entire class of NPCs, but it seems like Goggins’ character will be The Ghoul among Ghouls. One of the longest-living and most famous of the bunch.
