Fallout 4 Now Supports Nvidia, AMD, and Intel Upscaling Thanks to a Mod

Those who are a fan of image upscaling and Fallout 4 will be pleased to know that the 2015 post-apocalyptic RPG now supports the technology, specifically that of Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. As a franchise, Fallout is known for its many vaults, its destroyed open-world landscapes, and its often dark satire on humanity. Since Bethesda took over the franchise for the third installment, turning the games into FPS titles instead of isometric ones, the series has become a AAA darling.

With Fallout 4 coming to Xbox Series consoles and PS5 soon, there will be even more opportunities to explore this derelict version of Boston. While the vanilla experience is already pretty expansive, what makes the game even more appealing is the number of custom mods that are available. As seen by DSO Gaming, Nexus Mods user PureDark released a Fallout 4 upscaler not long ago. The mod is essentially a plugin for the RPG which adds support for Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling, version 2 of AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution, and Intel's Xe Super Sampling tech. While the modder hasn't uploaded any examples of the mod in action, a number of users have seen it fit to provide images and videos showing how the upscaling software improves the overall quality of the game. It should be noted that PureDark says the plugin doesn't work with the popular Enhanced Natural Beauty, or ENB, modification.
