Xbox is set to launch a new Velocity Green controller soon, according to a Twitter leaker. The vibrant new color variant feels like a throwback to the Xbox’s original color scheme, while perhaps borrowing some ideas from Xbox’s online controller customization tool, the Design Lab. The new controller is rumored to launch in the coming weeks.
Xbox releases new controllers periodically throughout the year. The most recent variant was the Stellar Shift controller. Like all new Xbox controllers, it is compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Stellar Shift’s color scheme is predominantly purple with an iridescent sheen that changes the color to sky blue depending on where the light hits it. The handle, bumpers, and triggers have a textured rubberized grip with a smoky purple print that gives the handles the look of a nebula. Connecting the Stellar Shift controller to an Xbox console offers gave players a free dynamic background that matches the controller’s color scheme and space theme.
