Today, developer Mediatonic announced that Fall Guys will soon go free-to-play; plus, the wait for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Epic Games Store versions is nearly at an end. Fall Guys hit the ground running in the summer of 2020 on Steam and PlayStation 4, managing to take the world by storm courtesy of its obstacle course-centric multiplayer gameplay and adorable characters. Though Mediatonic planned on porting Fall Guys to Switch and Xbox approximately one year ago, such releases were delayed to allow developers to focus on the creation of new features.
The charm of Fall Guys predominantly rests in its little bean characters, who waddle around obstacle courses as players work towards taking the top spot at the end of each round. It didn't take long for a wide variety of brands to latch on to Fall Guys' early success. Everyone from Godzilla and Ratchet and Clank to Cuphead's Mughead and Colonel Sanders of KFC fame has featured in the online title at one point or another. But Fall Guys' most exciting crossovers yet — with Nintendo and Xbox — will manifest sometime in the near future.
