The cute and colorful online monster-collecting title Temtem is getting a full release later in 2022 after two years of early access. Spanish developer Crema partnered with Humble Bundle to release Temtem on Steam in January 2020, with a PlayStation 5 version launching the following December. Before that, the project was partly financed through a Kickstarter campaign in 2018, and interested backers quickly took note of Temtem’s similarities to popular creature-wrangling franchises like Pokémon.

Earlier today, the Humble Games YouTube channel posted a trailer for the full version of Temtem, which is set to launch on September 6, 2022 — including the Nintendo Switch and Xbox X/S systems for the first time. This trailer shows players exploring the colorful floating islands of Omninesia, which are populated by various magical creatures called Temtem. Aspiring Temtem tamers can capture these strange creatures with card-like devices in hopes of building a team strong enough to defeat the eight Dojo Leaders and thwart the world-dominating plans of the sinister Clan Belsoto in Temtem’s story campaign. Players can also challenge each other online in Temtem’s massive online game world, journey with their friends in co-op, and even customize their character and in-game house.
Temtem’s affection for Pokémon and other monster-collecting RPGs is made apparent through its most recent pre-launch trailer, and players who have experienced Temtem’s early access version on the PS5 and Steam have praised it for its impressive visuals and creative twists on that series’ gameplay formula.
