Nintendo has added private lobbies and some secret tracks to its massively multiplayer racing game F-Zero 99.
After downloading the game’s latest update, which is detailed in full below, players will be able to join the same private lobby as their friends using a 4-digit passcode.
New secret tracks will “occasionally appear” in the game, while the update also raises the maximum level and skill rating for players, among other features.
F-Zero 99 was a surprise release on Switch in September 2023. Available at no additional charge for Nintendo Switch Online members, at launch it only had seven tracks from the original F-Zero, but Nintendo has since released additional courses and features.
In November, it added a Classic Race mode that plays more like the SNES original, on which F-Zero 99 is based. Rather than 99 racers, it limits the number of participants to 20.
