One of the big surprises from Capcom during a Sony State of Play back in March was a new IP called Exoprimal. While fans initially believed this to be a new Dino Crisis game, Capcom surprised everyone by revealing Exoprimal is focused around third person online multiplayer. The team based action game lets players pick from different exosuits, which serve as classes with abilities, to take on overwhelming waves of dinosaurs in a futuristic sci-fi setting.
This week, Capcom held a new showcase to discuss news and announcements surrounding upcoming games like Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Resident Evil 4, and plenty more. Exoprimal was also a major focus, providing players with a ton of new details including an upcoming Network Test, which fans can sign up to participate in while also getting a first hands-on look at the unique dinosaur combat. Capcom also showed off the game's story campaign and a look at two new exosuits as well.
Exoprimal Gives Off Strong Anthem Vibes
Set in the year 2040 and dinosaur outbreaks have threatened humanity's existence. Thanks to an advanced AI named Leviathan, players are able to fight back against the threat using specialized exosuits. In addition to the four originally revealed in the Exoprimal reveal, Capcom showed off two new Assault class exosuits during its presentation. Barrage specializes in explosives, igniting enemies and using grenades in close quarter combat. The hooded Vigilant exo is better at range, wielding a large rail gun to hit enemies for massive damage.
