ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive , previewing the upcoming indie dramedy from Marc Marriott, making his directorial debut.
Tokyo Cowboy tells the story of Hideki, a Japanese man who finds himself sent to Montana for his job, his adjustment to life in the country, and the friends he makes along the way. Marriott directs the film from a script co-written by Dave Boyle and Ayako Fujitani.
The movie stars Arata Iura, Robin Weigert, Goya Robles, Ayako Fujitani, Jun Kunimura, Liliana Antunes, Masashi Arifuku, Jenna Ciralli, Gabriel Clark, George De Vries, Marisilda Garcia, and Jocko Henderson. Tokyo Cowboy will be available in select theaters nationwide as an AMC Artisan Films release on August 30, 2024.

“This charming dramedy centers on a Japanese corporate turnaround artist, Hideki (Arata Iura),” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Confident that he has the secret sauce to recharge any stagnant brand, he’s got a slick pitch deck (with a snapshot from his own childhood), and he’s engaged to Keiko (Ayako Fujitani), the corporate vice-president he reports to. His company is about to liquidate a money-hemorrhaging cattle ranch in Montana co-owned by Peg (Robin Weigert), when he parachutes in for a quick fix.”
