Everything Everywhere All At Once Dethrones Hereditary To Hit Major Milestone For A24
After almost instantaneously becoming A24's highest-grossing film domestically, Everything Everywhere All at Once is now officially the studio's highest-grossing movie worldwide. Following its limited release in March, the film managed to initially bring in over $500,000 across a mere ten venues in NYC, LA, and San Francisco, despite only being able to work with a $25 million budget.
However, Everything Everywhere All at Once eventually expanded to over 2200 screens across the US. The film has luckily been able to reach more and more people over time and has simultaneously remained in the top 10, weekend after weekend, at the box office as well. The critically acclaimed film featured seasoned actor and action star Michelle Yeoh in a role that fans have never quite seen her take on before. The genre-bending and time-travelling film showcased a side of cinema that hasn’t been brought forth to the public for some time. Everything Everywhere All at Once follows an aging Chinese immigrant (Yeoh) who suddenly finds herself tasked with an inter-dimensional adventure in order to ultimately save the fate of her own world. Throughout the film, Yeoh's character must learn how to channel her newfound powers in order to explore alternate universes, which allows her to unpack a lot of her unhealed childhood trauma.
