Empire of the Ants Could Release on Switch 2, “Mostly a Question of Visual Fidelity” – Dev
We’ve now entered November, and still there’s no sign yet of Nintendo officially unveiling the Switch 2. We do know, however, that the company’s next-gen console will be announced sometime before April, and unsurprisingly, developers around the industry are beginning to speak more openly about the prospect of their games coming to the unannounced platform.
One of them is Renaud Charpentier, game director on Empire of the Ants at Tower Five. Speaking in a recent interview with GamingBolt, when asked if the upcoming real-time strategy title is going to get a Switch 2 version down the line, Charpentier said that though Tower Five is currently unaware of the console’s specs, the dev team would be “very happy” to potentially see the game on the platform, especially since, as he says, the game’s Steam Deck version proves it works very well on a portable device.
“We are waiting to see the final specs of the Switch successor and would be very happy to be able to propose Empire on it,” Charpentier told GamingBolt. “What is for sure is that the Switch format and controls will suit Empire very well, as the experience on a Steam Deck proves; now it is mostly a question of visual fidelity.”
