To celebrate the grand release of Elden Ring, one dedicated fan has recreated the fantasy epic using retro PlayStation graphics. FromSoftware's open-world adventure spreads the developer's «soulslike» formula across a massive world called The Lands Between. Currently Elden Ring is OpenCritic's highest-rated game of all time, with many reviewers calling the action role-playing game a true masterpiece.
FromSoftware's series of soulslike ARPGs began with 2009's Demon's Souls, and Elden Ring looks to draw from each of its predecessors. Dark Souls 2 introduced a Battle Stance system, which creates new combat styles when dual-wielding similar weapons, and this too has been adopted by FromSoftware's newest title. Even the more action-oriented Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has influenced Elden Ring's new emphasis on vertical traversal. While the two projects may seem incredibly different, even Bloodborne has influenced Elden Ringthanks to the newly-released title's aggressive combat and cosmic scope.
