After several years of active development, Elden Ring is finally available for commercial purchase and so far, many players have liked what they see. With expansive, detailed environments for players to explore, combat mechanics on par with the rest of the FromSoftware's titles, and imaginative lore for players to uncover, Elden Ring certainly has a lot to offer its player base. However, there also appears to be an Easter egg that pays tribute to the man whose work many consider to be the key inspiration for Dark Souls as it exists today.
The Berserk manga inspired not just Dark Souls, but both Bloodborne and Sekiro as well, with various different aspects of the narrative, characters, and architecture serving as integral components to the design of most FromSoftware games. Sadly, the author of Berserk, Kentaro Miura, passed away last year, but Miura's work still resonates within Elden Ring in the form of an homage to Berserk's lead character, Guts.

There's a greatsword that can be discovered in Elden Ring that looks nearly identical to the greatsword that Guts wields in the Berserk manga. Clearly, this is intended to honor not just Guts, but the late manga author as well. For longtime fans of both Berserk and Dark Souls, this Easter Egg will be sure to excite.
When Kentaro Miura passed, many fans of both Berserk and the Souls series were quite devastated. To the point where, last year, after Miura's passing, fans flooded the Elden Ring subreddit with Berserk appreciation posts in order to honor Miura. Now that Elden Ring has officially released, there will likely be plenty more Berserk-related Easter eggs and tributes for players to find.
