The recently implemented 1.05 patch for Elden Ring has added an element that makes finishing Ranni the Witch's quest line a little bit easier. FromSoftware's June 13 update to its massively successful open-world title also fixed a variety of bugs while including a few more minor additions, such as sound effects for Elden Ring multiplayer summon signs or emphasis on certain choices at the site of grace menu.
Elden Ring contains many components that made previous FromSoftware titles such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne so successful. The open-world format, however, called for a variety of changes to be made to the proven formula and the sheer number of adjustments have grown with the game's popularity. FromSoftware's intentionally vague design philosophy, which in the past has contributed to the notorious difficulty of Soulslike titles, has steadily been lessened in an effort to make Elden Ring more accessible to mainstream audiences than its predecessors.

Patch 1.05 is the latest attempt from the developers to make Elden Ring more balanced and it includes a relatively simple adjustment that was noticed by Reddit user dark4mje. Following the game update, after the Tarnished defeats Starscourge Radahn, a marker will now appear on the game map indicating the location of where the star crashed in the cutscene following the boss battle. This also marks the location to the entrance of a hidden area that is necessary for any player who wishes to complete Ranni the Witch's extensive quest line.
