Elden Ring was a smashing success right out of the gate, but that hasn’t stopped developer FromSoftware from trying to improve upon it in the months since. The studio has released various patches to improve the overall balance of the game or expand on features. The latest Elden Ring patch, patch 1.06, has gone live, and it has a lot going on. Previously, players could only complete this quest by participating in a specific number of multiplayer invasions, but now they can defeat a new NPC to achieve the same outcome.
The changes to cooperative and PvP multiplayer should add a welcome wrinkle to those mechanics, and we’re very curious about the new NPC that came with this patch. However, FromSoftware didn’t stop there. Elden Ring patch 1.06 also includes a host of noteworthy balance changes to weapons.
The Greatsword, Curved Greatsword, and Great Hammers have all received substantial changes. The time it takes to enter a roll after attacking has been decreased, the motion speed of strong and charge attacks has been increased, and the motion speed of the Guard Counter has been increased.
