The Ailing Village is an old, abandoned area that can be found north of the Castle Morne Rampart in Elden Ring. It's hard to access the Village since it's in the middle of nowhere and there are no signs of life around it.
The once prosperous Village is now full of run-down, decaying houses and is inhabited by mad Villagers who are desperately clinging to the Flame of Frenzy. It’s definitely worth exploring as Elden Ring players will get a good shield, a decent Incantation, and most importantly, a Sacred Tear by the church.
How Elden Ring Embraces the Dark Fantasy Genre
The Ailing Village is found north of Castle Morne in an isolated area. The simple way to reach the Elden Ring Village is by riding Torrent southwest from the Bridge of Sacrifice, Site of Lost Grace.
Once a castle can be seen, head north and climb up the slope. Tread carefully between the Elden Ring enemies near the pond and take a turn southwest to find the South of the Lookout Tower Site of Lost Grace.
Activate it and then head west to cross the long bridge.
Turn south and keep jumping down on the lower platforms until players reach the ground near a Spirit Spring.
Now, summon Torrent and use the spring to jump southeast onto the cliff. Next, climb the slope, turn northeast, and the Ailing Village is up ahead.
The Ailing Village is full of mad Villagers that inflict Madness build-up. Having some Clarifying Boluses ready can be really helpful in difficult situations. Do note that these boluses can only be crafted after acquiring The Frenzied's Cookbook [1]. Additionally, one Clarifying Boluses needs some Elden Ring Crafting Materials like Dewkissed Herba, Crystal Cave Moss, and Eye of Yelough.
